2021 Shake N Bake

Last week, we came together for our annual SHAKE N BAKE charity event. Every October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we race for a cure and bring awareness to this great cause.

It means so much to us that our friends and family could partake and we appreciate everyone who made it out this year. We enjoyed the smiles, laughter, and mud-filled day!

We look forward to the future of this event and have so much in store for next year!

We were pleased to partner with Ryan Companies US, Inc. on the construction of this Mountainside Fitness in Mesa. Our team completed the exterior framing and sheathing for this new gym facility. Take a look at these photos from our work on the building!

Announcing Our New Office!

WCP is excited to announce the construction of our new office! The new building will have a 14,000 SF Pre-Fab shop and an additional 10,000 SF material and storage area. As we grow, we want our office to allow for collaboration and advanced presentation and training functions.

Some exciting features that will accomplish this include DIRTT Walls with state-of-the-art AV glass panels, high-end offices, a new break room, custom ceilings, and exposed ceiling throughout, exposed concrete, as well as flooring treatment with two lounge areas. The open ceiling, exposed roof structure theme with a high-end modern twist will certainly make our place of collaboration exciting. The growth and the upgrade is exactly what we need to continue to take care of our workforce, clients and staff.

We are excited to welcome everyone with a party soon and look forward to sharing our vision with all of you!

Our WCP Leadership recently got away for a fishing trip and tournament. Congratulations to Joe Freitas and Stephen Lowery for winning first place in our competition for largest fish!

Safety Comes First at WCP

At WCP, safety is always first. Our Operations Manager, Carl Mitchell, and Field Superintendent, Nolan Mitchell, are taking this core value seriously and recently completed OSHA 510. It is important to us that our field management are experts in safety, reinforcing that every day on project sites.

WCP Renews WBENC Certifications

West Coast Partitions is pleased to share that we have renewed our Women’s Business Enterprise National Council certifications, naming us as a Woman Owned Business! We first obtained these certifications in 2020 and are thankful for the doors it has opened and the growth opportunities it has allowed.

Celebrating WCP Women in Construction

We want to highlight and thank all of the women at West Coast Partitions; each of them have made a difference in elevating the company and their hard work does not go unnoticed.

Melissa Spranaitis, our Project Administrator, started in the construction industry in 1989 while attending ASU. She encourages other women interested in construction, “Always try to learn something new every day from every person that you interact with. Ask questions. Be brave.”

Kimberly Herndon began her HR and Accounting career with a residential development & construction company for 3 years. She encourages women looking to enter the industry to go for it, advising, “Do not be intimidated by old stereotypes. There are numerous places where your skills can be invaluable and you would probably be surprised at how many more women there are behind the scenes making things happen than you imagined.”

Jennifer Mitchell has been surrounded by construction her whole life, but just recently entered the industry as Office Assistant here at WCP. She believes more women should join the construction industry, encouraging them, “Just because you hear the word ‘construction’ no woman should ever be afraid…. Get out there!! Who knows what kind of talent you have when it comes to construction.”

Tammy Slater, CEO of WCP, stumbled upon the construction industry in her previous career as a RN as she became involved with hospital design for nurse designated spaces. As Tammy worked with trade partners, she realized she not only had an interest in the building process, but noticed a lack of women in the industry.
Tammy’s advice for women looking to enter the industry is to not be intimidated even though you may be in the minority. She encourages using that as an advantage, saying, “Capitalize on the fact that you are different and offer a perspective that may be lacking.”
